A man in Greeley was charged Monday in the death of a woman whose body was found in a chest-type trunk in the closet of an apartment on March 16.
David Wayne Batty, 53, was charged with first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse. He has a hearing Tuesday at 1 p.m.
Greeley Police Officers responded to the 1400 block of 9th Avenue on the afternoon of March 16 on reports of a body found inside a residence.
The body of a woman was found in a trunk by two parole officers who were performing a routine unannounced home visit on Batty, who was a parolee.
Batty allegedly has a history of domestic violence.
