The man reportedly threatened another person with a shotgun before barricading himself in a camper at Cherry Knolls Park, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office said.

CENTENNIAL, Colo. — Arapahoe County Sherriff's Office said a barricade situation involving an armed man in the parking lot of a Centennial park has been resolved after he surrendered  Friday morning.

Deputies responded around 7:12 a.m. to the parking lot near the 6900 block of South Elizabeth Street for a report of a man with a shotgun who threatened another person. That's near East Arapahoe Road and South University Boulevard.

Authorities were trying to make contact with the man, who was barricaded in a camper attached to a truck, the sheriff's office said.

Around 9:10 a.m., the sheriff's office said the man surrendered and was taken into custody on suspicion of felony menacing.

South Elizabeth Street were closed at South Elizabeth Circle, South Columbine Way and East Easter Avenue. The streets remained closed while deputies investigated, including a search of the camper. Roads have since reopened.
