ADAMS COUNTY - A former Adams County deputy is in jail after he allegedly violated his bond in a sexual assault case.
According to court documents, he assaulted his estranged wife while she had a court-ordered protection document against him.
The arrest affidavit was issued for Jason Belmont in Park County on July 18. He's facing child abuse, assault, violation of protection order and bond violation charges.
After his June arrest, his estranged wife had a protection order against him.
According to a Park County arrest affidavit, on July 10, Belmont's estranged wife was dropping off their young children at Belmont's Park County residence. A fight ensued, and Belmont allegedly punched his estranged wife in the stomach and took her cellphone.
Court records indicate his estranged wife had used that cellphone to take photos of the guns she saw at Belmont's house. Belmont cannot own a gun because of pending charges from June.
Belmont was released on bond from Arapahoe County after a June arrest for sexual assault against his estranged wife.
