FORT COLLINS, Colo. — A man has been arrested for multiple charges related to a series of window peeping incidents that happened near the Colorado State University(CSU) campus in Fort Collins in recent months, according to Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS).
Since January, the Fort Collins Police Neighborhood Enforcement Team investigated numerous reports of a Peeping Tom in the Sherwood Street area, located north of CSU.
Officers identified James Morsbach, 37, as the suspect and he was arrested last month. He's jailed on a $200,000 cash bond.
“Window peeping is a crime that often goes unreported because people think it’s harmless,” said FCPS Chief Jeff Swoboda. “However, these behaviors can, and often do, escalate to more serious crimes. We want neighbors to report all suspicious activity to police so we can keep our community safe.”
Following Morsbach's arrest, officers received additional reports of crimes that were ultimately linked to him.
He's charged with the following:
- Three counts invasion of privacy for sexual gratification
- Two counts attempted an invasion of privacy for sexual gratification
- Retaliation against a witness or victim
- Attempted Burglary
- Stalking
- Criminal Mischief
- Six counts second-degree criminal trespassing
- Two counts resisting arrest
