LOVELAND, Colo. — Loveland Police on Tuesday asked for the public's help with their investigation into a group of suspects who stole merchandise from a store and a pickup driver who attempted to hit an officer who responded to the scene.
On Monday evening, officers went to the area of Fall River Drive, where employees at a store said that a group of suspects who had stolen from their store earlier were in the parking lot next door, Loveland Police said in a news release.
Officers were speaking to the driver of the white pickup truck in question when three people came out of a store with more than $1,000 in stolen merchandise. When the three suspects saw the officers, they ran in different directions. One of the suspects got into the pickup truck, police said.
An officer chased one of the suspects on foot, and the pickup truck driver swerved and tried to hit the officer, police said.
The officer wasn't hit or injured and took the suspect they were chasing into custody.
Anyone who might have witnessed, photographed or taken video of the incident can call the Loveland Police Department tip line at 970-962-2032.
Loveland Police released photos of the pickup truck, which are below.
