Loveland man accused of strangling 15-year-old at In-N-Out restaurant

Lucas Kalisher, 55, faces second-degree assault and child abuse charges. He turned himself in on Aug. 13.

LOVELAND, Colo. — A man has been arrested and is accused of strangling and slamming a 15-year-old boy in an In-N-Out restaurant in Loveland, according to a release from the Loveland Police Department.

Police said at around 1 a.m. on Aug. 4, officers responded to the In-N-Out located at 1450 Fall River Drive and spoke with a 15-year-old boy who said he and two of his friends were "splashing water on one another" inside the restaurant and accidentally got water on a woman.

The teen said he went over to her table to apologize when a man who was with the woman grabbed him, "placed both hands around the front and back of his neck, pulled him down to the table and threw him backward onto the floor," police said.

The man and the woman left the restaurant before police arrived.

In their investigation, officers conducted interviews and reviewed several videos of the altercation.

Witnesses were able to identify the suspect, and local records helped confirm the suspect to be 55-year-old Lucas N. Kalisher.

On Aug. 9, the case was presented to the Larimer County District Attorney's Office, and a no-bond arrest warrant was issued on Aug. 13.

Kalisher is facing the following charges:

  • Second-degree assault - strangulation
  • Child abuse

Kalisher turned himself in to authorities on Aug. 13. His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 14.
