Loveland woman arrested in connection with man's homicide

LOVELAND, Colo. — A Loveland woman was arrested in connection with a man's death that is being investigated as a homicide, the Loveland Police Department said in a release.

Just before 10:30 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a call reporting that a "dispute" between two people at a home in the 800 block of East 6th Avenue had become physical and that one of the people involved was seriously injured, according to the release. 

When they arrived at the residence, officers found a man dead, the release said. After conducting a preliminary investigation, police arrested 32-year-old Heather Cushman, of Loveland. She was booked into the Larimer County Jail on one count of second-degree murder.

The victim and Cushing knew each other and there is no active threat to the community, according to the release.

Police did not release any other details, as the investigation is still ongoing. The man's death is being investigated as a homicide. The Larimer County Coroner's Office will release his identity and the official cause of death.
