LONGMONT, Colo. — One man was killed and a second man was wounded in a shooting Thursday night in Longmont after an altercation among four men.

According to police, officers responded about 11:30 p.m. to the 4200 block of Hawthorne Place for a report about a shooting. When they arrived, they found a man dead from a gunshot wound.

Friday, the Office of the Boulder County Coroner identified the victim as 27-year-old Joshua Hill.

Their preliminary investigation found there was a dispute among four men. It's not clear what prompted the altercation.

During it, at least two shots were fired that resulted in a man being killed and another man being shot in the arm. The man was taken to a hospital and treated for an injury that was not life-threatening, police said.

Longmont Police said they're interviewing two persons of interest in connection with the shooting.

They're asking area residents to check for any surveillance video that might have captured what happened between 11 and 11:30 p.m. That video can be uploaded here.

Police also asked for any witnesses who have not yet spoken with investigators to contact Detective Ryan Williams at 303-774-4839. Callers should reference Longmont Police Report 24-4949.
