The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office told the news media Tuesday that it has received “new information” and identified several local persons of interest related to the 1980 death and murder of then-32-year-old Beverly England.

The last new development in the case was last October, when officials announced they had matched the DNA of a body found in 1992 to England’s.

The sheriff’s office said Tuesday that they had identified “local persons of interest” and believe those people shared information with others about England’s disappearance.

They asked that anyone with information about the investigation call Sgt. Andy Rohrich at 719-539-5729, Det. Rob Martellaro at 719-530-2617 or Chaffee County Crime Stoppers at 719-539-5299.

England disappeared on June 12, 1980 from her Salida home. She told her two young children she was going to “meet a woman” but never came back.

Her car was found that afternoon. Human bones belonging to England were found on Mount Shavano more than a decade later.

The case remains unsolved, and is discussed on the Colorado Bureau of Investigation website: http://bit.ly/2fIqoKM
