Lakewood Police said a person was shot Monday night in the 2500 block of Pierce Street.
Andrea Joo with the Lakewood Police Department said the shooting victim responded to a Craigslist ad. Further investigation suggests the Craigslist ad and the encounter were very likely drug related.
The Lakewood Police say a small white sedan with a man and a woman inside pulled behind the victim's car. A suspect described as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s got out of the white sedan, approached the two men still in their vehicle. The suspect then demanded they get out and shot one of the men. After both men got out of the vehicle, the woman got in the victim's vehicle and left the scene, reportedly. The man then left in the small white sedan.
The victim's vehicle is a green 1998 Ford Escape with Colorado plate of QKL 268.
Joo said the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
