LAKEWOOD - A woman who was stabbed by her former boyfriend has died of her injurieS.
Kendra Chavez was stabbed Feb. 25 at a motel in the 6600 block of W. Mississippi Avenue.
She died Sunday.
Detectives believe Chavez and former boyfriend Leonard Paul Martinez, 21, were involved in some sort of domestic dispute.
An arrest warrant was issued for Martinez for suspicion of attempted 1st degree murder, first degree assault and domestic violence.
Martinez was located Friday afternoon, arrested and booked at the Jefferson County Jail.
Since Chavez's death, the District Attorney's Office will file new homicide charges against Martinez.
