LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Lakewood Police are looking for two men who assaulted a man and threatened him with a gun because he was wearing a red Chicago Bulls jersey.

The attack happened around 8:45 p.m. on Sept. 20 at a Conoco gas station at 3440 S. Wadsworth Blvd.

According to a Crime Stopper bulletin release Wednesday, the men claimed to be "crips" and said they were from "Crenshaw" during the assault of the victim. After the assault, the men left the gas station and attempted to carjack a person in a truck at gunpoint. The truck driver put their vehicle in reverse and drove away from the men to safety, according to police.

One of the men had thick dark hair and facial hair and was wearing glasses and a trucker hat. He has tattoos on his outer right forearm.

The other man had brown/reddish hair and soul-patch facial hair. He had a tattoo on the right side of his neck, one by his left eyebrow, and one on his inner right forearm.
