HOUSTON - A firefighter with the Houston Fire Department has been relieved of duty after he was arrested in Denver on felony charges.
Luke McIntosh, 28, has been charged with one count of second degree kidnapping and three counts of sexual assault.
According to court documents, a victim told investigators she was meeting McIntosh and a friend at a bar in Denver to watch a hockey game in March 2015. Even though her friend later canceled, she decided to meet McIntosh anyway.
The victim said after she had a beer with McIntosh, he started ordering shots. She told investigators that "at some point in the night, things started getting fuzzy"; however, she did not think she had enough to drink to cause her to become severely impaired. She believed she told McIntosh she was going to walk home and this was the last thing she remembered until she woke up in her apartment sometime later.
Court documents state that when the victim woke up in one of the bedrooms in her apartment, McIntosh was allegedly on top of her and assaulting her. She said her memory then went in and out.
The victim told investigators she did not tell anyone about the incident for several months. When she confided in a friend, the victim became aware of two other women who claimed to have been assaulted by McIntosh.
Records on HFD’s website show McIntosh took his civil service exam to become a firefighter in March 2016.
HFD says McIntosh will remain suspended pending the results of an investigation.
