ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — A 75-year-old man who was walking in the middle of Highway 36 was struck and killed by a driver who did not stop, according to a spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.
The crash happened just before 11 p.m. Sunday on Highway 36 near Longhorn Road in Adams County. According to the CSP, the victim, a man from Boulder, was walking in the northbound lanes of the highway when a driver, who was also headed north, struck him.
That driver left the scene, according to the spokesman. As a result of the crash and investigation, the roadway was closed until shortly before 3 a.m. Monday.
No other information was released.
