Suspect wanted for injuring Golden Police officer

The officer was injured Friday morning in a Home Depot parking lot while trying to recover a stolen Ford F-250.

GOLDEN, Colo. — A Golden Police officer is recovering after being injured by the driver of a stolen truck Friday morning.

The officer was struck when police from Golden and deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office tried to recover a stolen Ford F-250 that was in the parking lot of the Home Depot at West Colfax Avenue and Highway 6, Golden Police said.

Officers tried to utilize an immobilization technique on the truck to take the driver into custody, but the attempt was not successful, police said.

The driver rammed several police vehicles and sped off, striking the Golden officer in the process, police said.

Deputies and officers pursued the driver into Denver but called off their chase when it became unsafe, police said. The driver was last seen near West 10th Avenue and Perry Street, about nine miles from the Home Depot.

The white F-250 has moderate damage to the driver's side door and the rear driver's side quarter panel, police said. The driver has not been identified by authorities. On Wednesday, the sheriff's office released two pictures of the wanted man.
