2 dead after shooting in Denver

The Denver Police Department is investigating the shooting that happened in the 4400 block of South Quebec Street.

DENVER — Denver Police are investigating a shooting that left a man and a teen dead in south Denver.

Police first posted about the shooting on the social platform "X" just before 6 a.m. Sunday.

According to police, one victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting in the 4400 block of South Quebec Street, while the second victim drove himself to a local hospital, where he later died.

Police initially said both victims were adults. On Thursday, they issued a correction, saying one victim was an adult and the other was a teen under 18. 

The Denver coroner's office identified the victims as Gregory Santoro, 33, and Brayan Ibarra, 16. 

Police ask anyone who may have information about the shooting to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000. 

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
