Victim identified in fatal shooting in east Denver

The shooting happened near East Colfax Avenue and Spruce Street in Denver last month.

DENVER — The Denver Medical Examiner's Office on Thursday identified the man who died in a shooting that happened last month in east Denver. 

Mark Williams, 32, died of a gunshot wound, and the manner of death is homicide, the medical examiner's office said.

The shooting happened on the evening of March 27 in the area of East Colfax Avenue and Spruce Street, according to the Denver Police Department. 

The victim in the shooting was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased, police said.

No arrests have been made in this case, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or visit metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
