Terrell Ephriam, a special education student, was stabbed to death in Aurora on February 26, 2014.

KUSA- It has been two years since a special education student was stabbed to death near his home in Aurora.

Aurora Police say 20-year-old Terrell Ephriam's body was found near a creek on East 28th Avenue and Wheeling Street on February 26, 2014.

Investigators said they believed the crime was random.

Two years later, no arrests have been made in the case and police say there are no new leads.

"I feel like my heart has just been ripped out because there's no answers," said Kathy Wiley, Terrell's grandmother.

"For him to be stabbed in his chest multiple times and his side, that's unacceptable and someone needs to pay for that," Wiley said.

Terrell was a student at Crossroads Transitions Center within the Aurora Public School District.

"The people who knew and worked with him were significantly impacted by his life," said program director Kathy Fisher.

Another school employee says Ephriam had a bright future and had just been hired at a new job.

"It's going to be hard. He was doing so good, he had just gotten a job," she said. "So proud of him. He was so excited he called the school to tell us he got the job and he was so excited he was doing really good. In our eyes, he was still a young boy."

Police say they believe the crime was random.

"I just want to thank everybody for coming out and this means a lot to me," said Terrell's mother. "Somebody knows something that happened to my son and I didn't even get a chance to talk to my son you know, they just left my baby here."
