DENVER — The Denver Police Department is looking for a suspect after a security guard was shot and killed when he confronted a possible shooting suspect downtown early Friday morning.
The shooting happened in the 1500 block of Market Street just before 2 a.m., according to Denver police. One shooting victim was found in the area and critically injured. The security guard, identified as 28-year-old Lucardio Kroener, was apparently killed after confronting the suspect in that person's assault, according to DPD.
In a crime bulletin, DPD described the suspect as a black man who is between 25 to 35 years old with a stocky build, braided hair and facial hair. At the time of the shooting, police said he was wearing a dark-colored hoodie.
The suspect and his associates were seen running away from the scene of the crime, according to DPD.
