Dougco detectives investigating sexual assault

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said a woman was sexually assaulted while walking home in the Pinery Tuesday night.

PARKER, Colo. — The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help identifying a suspect in a sexual assault.

The sheriff's office said in a release that the victim told deputies she had been at an event in her neighborhood on Prairie Lake Trail in the Pinery area south of Parker Tuesday night. She said while she was walking home between 9 and 9:30 p.m., she was sexually assaulted by an unknown male.

Investigators said they don't have a good description of the suspect.

Police are asking anyone in the area who has outdoor security cameras that may have recorded the assault or who saw anything suspicious to contact Detective Adam Cummings at 303-814-7631 or acummings@dcsheriff.net.

Anyone with information can also call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or visit metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
