Teen suspect in shooting of Pamela Cabriales to be tried as adult

Cabriales, 32, was shot while stopped at a light at Colfax Avenue and Interstate 25 in February 2021.

DENVER — A teenager accused of killing a woman in 2021 will be tried as an adult, the Denver District Attorney's Office said.

Pamela Cabriales, 32, was shot while stopped at a light at Colfax Avenue and Interstate 25 in February 2021. She died several days later and left behind a 5-year-old son.

Prosecutors charged 18-year-old Neshan Johnson and a then-unnamed 14-year-old with first-degree murder. According to court documents, the two teens thought Cabriales had tapped their car from behind at a red light. Police said the 14-year-old, now identified as 17-year-old Remi Cordova, pulled the trigger and Johnson drove the getaway car.
