Police investigating fatal hit-and-run crash on I-70

The crash happened on Interstate 70 near North Pecos Street about 8 p.m. Sunday.

DENVER — The Denver Police Department (DPD) asked for the public's help Tuesday in identifying the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash on Interstate 70 on Sunday night.

The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of I-70 near the North Pecos Street exit, according to police.

Police said the driver of an unknown model Honda hit a pedestrian who died as a result of the crash. The suspect vehicle should have front-end or undercarriage damage from the crash, police said. The driver of the vehicle left the scene, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or visit metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
