Teen arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide, DUI after deadly crash

A 19-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide and DUI after his 19-year-old passenger died in the crash, police said.

DENVER — A teen was arrested after a crash that killed another teen early Saturday morning, Denver Police said.

Police said officers responded around 12:53 a.m. to the crash involving two cars at the intersection of North Speer Boulevard and West Colfax Avenue.

A 19-year-old passenger in the suspect's vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 19-year-old driver of that vehicle was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide and driving under the influence, police said.

The other driver involved in the crash was not injured.

The victim's identity will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.

The final determination on the potential filing of any charges will be determined by the Denver District Attorney's Office.
