DENVER — A man suspected in connection to a deadly shooting in Denver Sunday morning was found dead after a police chase, according to the Denver Police Department (DPD).

Just before 10 a.m., police posted on social media that they were investigating a shooting in the area of West Arkansas Avenue and South Knox Court.

At about 11:30 a.m., DPD posted an update saying the victim in the shooting, a man, was pronounced dead.

Another man was seen driving away from the scene, police said. Officers chased him to the area of South University Boulevard and Cherry Hills Farm Drive, where the driver crashed into another vehicle and then crashed again.

Police said the man was found dead in the vehicle from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Three people in a vehicle he crashed into were not injured, police said.

The entire incident is still under investigation.

The victim and the suspected shooter will be identified by the Denver Officer of the Medical Examiner.
