COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — A woman was hurt in a shooting Thursday morning that began as a road rage incident, according to the Commerce City Police Department (CCPD).
The incident began near 80th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard between two women who knew each other, according to CCPD's police chief. Police said the victim and suspect were involved in a road rage incident, which ended when the cars both crashed in the area of Kearney Street and East 64th Place.
Both drivers got out of their cars, and the suspect shot the victim, police said. The suspect then left the scene.
Officers found the victim in an alley near 62nd Avenue and Kearney Street around 9:05 a.m., police said. She was taken to the hospital for treatment. There's no word on her condition.
CCPD identified the suspect Thursday afternoon as Destenie Edwards (Salazar), 24.
Edwards was arrested around 5 p.m. Wednesday in the area of 88th Avenue and Washington Street, police said.
