COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Police in Commerce City have arrested a suspect in a hit-and-run crash that killed a teenager.
The Commerce City Police Department said a family of four was traveling on Holly Street near East 58th Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Sunday when another driver struck their vehicle. The family had the right-of-way, according to police. An 18-year-old man was killed. His parents and another teen in the car were seriously hurt.
The driver and passengers in the other vehicle got out, jumped into another nearby vehicle and fled the scene, police said. Police said they were in contact with the owners of the vehicle that was left behind.
On Wednesday, Commerce City Police announced that they had arrested a 20-year-old man who was responsible for the crash.
