JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said on Wednesday they have three men in custody who are accused of kidnapping and torturing their roommate.

About 10 a.m. Monday, a hospital staff member reported to the sheriff's office that a patient was claiming he was tied up and tortured over a 14-hour period, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

The 45-year-old victim sustained injuries from being tied up, beaten, burned, whipped and having his neck stepped on. Another person in the house who was not involved in the torture was able to help the victim get out of the house and to the hospital, the sheriff's office said.

The same day, the Jefferson County Combined Regional SWAT Team executed a high-risk arrest warrant on all three men at a home in the 4700 block of South Oak Court, near the intersection with West Marlow Avenue.

All the men are charged with:

  • Attempted first-degree murder
