Sketch released of suspect in 1990 abduction, assault of 2 female juveniles

The victims were taken from a Greenwood Village yogurt shop near I-25 and Arapahoe Road.

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. — Investigators are hoping a sketch will help them solve a Greenwood Village case that's more than three decades old and involves the abduction and assault of two juvenile females.

In March 1990, the victims were abducted from a yogurt shop in the area near East Arapahoe Road and Interstate 25. They were taken around closing time and then driven by the unknown assailant to a remote area in Douglas County, where he assaulted them before abandoning them in a field.

Despite extensive investigations, the perpetrator has managed to evade capture.

“We believe there are individuals out there who have information that could be crucial to solving this case. Even the smallest detail could be the missing piece we need,” said Sergeant Rob Parker with Greenwood Village Police.

At the time of the crime, the suspect was driving an older model, white, full-sized van with a brown interior. Detailed descriptions provided by the victims indicated the suspect was a white male in his thirties, with a pockmarked face and a cleft chin. He was reported to have a bandage on his cheek.

Police believe those distinctive features, particularly the cleft chin and the condition of his skin, make the suspect identifiable to those who may have known him or seen him around the time of the crime.

A composite sketch created based on the victims' descriptions is being circulated in hopes that someone will recognize the individual and come forward with information.
