Girl getting off bus gets hit by driver who left scene, Aurora Police say

Police are now looking for the driver of a pickup truck.

AURORA, Colo. — A young girl was injured in a hit-and-run crash in Aurora Friday afternoon.

The Aurora Police Department said the girl, who is possibly 6 years old, was getting off an RTD bus with her aunt near South Uravan Street and East Carolina Place when she walked into the road and was struck by a pickup truck.

She was taken to the hospital but police said her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

The driver of the truck left the scene of the crash, police said. It was described to officers as being "all blacked out." They don't have any other information about the truck.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
