DENVER — Denver Police said they are investigating after a woman and a girl were found dead in the Central Park neighborhood on Monday morning.
Police responded just before 7 a.m. to the 3200 block of North Syracuse Street, near East 33rd Avenue. Officers said a woman and a girl were killed and had blunt force trauma injuries. Their deaths were being investigated as homicides, according to the Denver Police Department.
"It’s sickening. It's really sad," said a neighbor, Steven Hathaway. "It’s almost left me a little uncomfortable to be there."
Hathaway began recording the scene outside of his window. He captured video of a man sitting on a stretcher.
"He was kind of vomiting in a bag," Hathaway said. "And I saw that they were wrapping his hands, and that's when I realized, 'Oh this is probably something serious."
The person seen in the video having their wrists wrapped with plastic was eventually put into a police car.
Denver Police said no arrests have been made and would not confirm whether they've detained anyone.
"The time when I took that video this morning, I really didn't know what I was looking at," Hathaway said. "So it's really unnerving. It's uncomfortable, absolutely."
Hathaway said he's considering breaking his lease to move somewhere he feels is safer.
Denver Police have not released the age of the girl who died. A public information officer said they're still investigating what happened but believe they are in contact with everyone who was involved.
The Denver Medical Examiner's Office will release the victims' identifications after notification of next of kin.
