LITTLETON, Colo. — Two men slammed a stolen minivan into a Littleton business early Monday morning in an effort to burglarize it, according to the Littleton Police Department (LPD).
An employee who showed up to open the Boardroom Sports Bar & Steakhouse at 51 W. Dry Creek Ct. found the red minivan inside the building running with no one inside, according to South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR).
Firefighters responded to the restaurant to assess the structural integrity of the building. They determined that a full inspection needs to be done before the restaurant can resume normal operations.
Inspectors with the city of Littleton are currently completing an inspection to determine the safety of the building.
LPD responded to investigate the incident. Officers determined that the minivan was reported stolen and was occupied by two unidentified men when it crashed through the front windows of the building shortly before 6 a.m.
The restaurant had "significant structural damage" as the minivan made its way deep into the building.
LPD said they're investigating the incident as burglary, but didn't say if they men took anything from the business. Photos from the scene show an ATM just inside the entrance that appears to have been opened up.
No one was inside the restaurant at the time, so no one was hurt. So far no suspect descriptions are available other than they were both men.
