BOULDER, Colo. — A couple in Boulder woke up to a thief stealing the camper they were sleeping in.
On June 11, a couple and their dog were sleeping in a camper on a pickup truck outside of their friend's apartment, according to police. The couple woke up when the felt the vehicle moving and called police.
At about 3 a.m., Boulder Police officers found the stolen truck and tried to pull it over, police said in a Facebook post. The driver sped up and turned down a dead-end street where the driver finally stopped, according to police.
Officers got the driver out of the truck and contacted the couple in the back of the camper, police said. The victims and their dog were OK despite being shaken up, according to police.
The suspected thief was previously convicted of motor vehicle theft and has three previous arrests for motor vehicle thefts in different jurisdictions, police said. The suspected thief was booked into the Boulder County jail, according to police.
