Boulder police looking for man after jogger grabbed sexually, robbed

The woman was jogging when a man rode past her on a bicycle and slapped her buttocks. He later got off his bike, grabbed her in a bear hug and touched her sexually, police said.

BOULDER, Colo. — Investigators are searching for a suspect who grabbed a woman who was jogging along a footpath in North Boulder and stole her cell phone early Monday morning, according to the Boulder Police Department.

The woman was jogging through a neighborhood on Vinca Court near Spotswood Place when a man rode past her on a bicycle and slapped her buttocks, police said.

The man then rode a short distance away, got off his bike and grabbed the victim in a "bear-hug", police said. She screamed for help while struggling with the suspect, who grabbed her in a sexual manner, according to police.

Police said she was able to avoid getting pushed to the ground, and the suspect grabbed her cell phone and fled eastbound toward 26th Street. 

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 20 to 25 years old,  approximately 6 feet, 1 inch tall and between 195 and 200 pounds.

He was wearing a black, long-sleeved T-shirt and black cargo pants and was riding a black BMX-style bike with red grips or handlebars.

A cash reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for tips that lead to an arrest or filing of charges.
