BOULDER COUNTY, Colo — Some families living in Boulder County said they no longer feel safe in their homes after a string of burglaries in their community.
The Boulder County Sheriff's Office said the series of burglaries happened over the past few months, and they are aware of similar cases across the Front Range, including in Arapahoe County.
Chuck, who lives in one of the neighborhoods that was hit, said it changed how he does things around his house.
“We were very free to leave doors open, windows open. Now we have to think about all that stuff before we leave the house. Set the alarm, close everything up," Chuck said.
The sheriff's office said the suspects in these cases are entering the master bedroom from the exterior of the home.
"Now that we know the MO of going in through the second floor window, people are putting sensors on the second floor," Chuck said.
The sheriff's office said the suspects are looking for jewelry, cash and designer purses.
They said they have been in communication with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, sharing information about similar cases.

On Sunday, Chuck said there were several homes in his neighborhood east of Boulder that had been burglarized.
"There are six houses. Five of them were occupied, and I know two of those families," he said.
One of those families told 9NEWS they came home after a vacation to find an upstairs bedroom destroyed, and jewelry and designer bags gone.
The sheriff's office said anyone who has any information about the suspects or these burglaries is asked to contact Detective Harrison at 303-441-3627.
