The Boulder County Fair won't crown a new rodeo queen this year in honor of the slain teen who was to assume the post.

Ashley Doolittle was selected as lady-in-waiting last year and was to be crowned queen at this year's fair, which starts Friday. Her ex-boyfriend is accused of killing her last month and bringing her body to a family property near Collbran.

The Longmont Times-Call reports the title of queen will stay with Doolittle and the queen sash will be placed on her horse during a ceremony. A new lady-in-waiting will be crowned who will take over as queen next year.

For the first time, two princesses will also be chosen. Doolittle proposed the program for younger girls and it will be named for her.
