BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — Deputies in Boulder County are looking to identify a man who was caught on a security camera setting fire to a building and then trying to set another building on fire.
The Boulder County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) said the fires were set at about 11:30 p.m. on July 4 in the 24000 block of Highway 7. That's about three miles south of Allenspark.
The suspect who deputies said was armed with a revolver and a knife, burglarized a building and then set it on fire. He was then seen trying to light another structure on fire, BCSO said. The fire spread to the ground and caught some trees nearby on fire.
Firefighters from Allenspark, Lyons and Lefthand Fire Protection all responded and were able to put out the fire before it spread further, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies said the man has a tattoo on his right forearm. He was wearing a hat that had the logo for the band Suicidal Tendencies on it.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the sheriff's office at 303-441-4444.
