Boulder Police investigating possible attempted kidnapping

Police said a girl told them a man on a bicycle grabbed her shoulder as she was walking to school Monday.

BOULDER, Colo. — Police in Boulder are looking for more information about a possible attempted kidnapping. 

The Boulder Police Department said an 11-year-old girl told them she was walking to school around 8:30 a.m. Monday when an unknown man started following her on a bicycle. As she walked on 26th Street between Meadow and Norwood avenues, the man grabbed her shoulder. 

Police said the girl grabbed a tree branch and hit the man, which caused him to let go. She then ran to school. 

The girl later told her mother what happened, police said, and her mother called police Wednesday.

Police said the man was wearing all black with a mask and circular sunglasses with colored lenses.
