BOULDER, Colo — Police are looking for a burglary suspect who was last seen near the CU Boulder campus early Friday morning.
At about 3 a.m. Friday, Boulder Police officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Pleasant Street in the University Hill neighborhood for a report of a burglary, according to police.
Officers were told that a male resident in the area woke up in his home to another male searching through his belongings, police said.
The resident chased the suspect out of the home and the suspect indicated he had a gun, according to police. A gun was not seen, police said.
The suspect is described as a 5-foot 10-inch-tall man carrying three backpacks, wearing a gray hoodie and a colorful hat, according to police.
Around 3:31 a.m., CU Police issued a shelter in place for the west end area of campus after a report of an armed burglary near 10th and Pleasant streets. Police lifted the shelter in place order around 4:19 a.m. but had not located the suspect. Residents were asked to continue to use caution in the area.
Anyone with any information or security camera footage of the incident is asked to contact Sergeant Meehan at meehanp@bouldercolorado.gov.
