Woman shot, seriously injured outside Aurora business

Officers were dispatched to an Aurora address for a shooting Friday night and found a 25-year-old woman with "multiple gunshot wounds," police said.

AURORA, Colo. — A woman is seriously injured after being shot outside of a business in Aurora on Friday night, according to the Aurora Police Department.

Police said the shooting happened at 10:30 p.m. Friday at 9500 E. Colfax Ave in District #1, which is near a Mexican restaurant and a liquor store in Aurora. Officers arrived at the location to find a 25-year-old woman with multiple gunshot wounds, police said, and she was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. 

An Aurora Police did not share which business the victim was found outside of, or whether any establishment was involved in the shooting. A spokesperson for the department said her current state is unknown. 

Although the exact circumstances leading up to the shooting are currently unknown, police said it was initially reported to be related to a robbery. The spokesperson stated that the victim was the one being robbed and that she was not inside any establishment when that happened.

According to police, no arrests have been made in connection with this shooting. At this time, police don't know whether the victim and the shooter knew each other.
