Man shot while driving in Aurora

AURORA, Colo. — A man was seriously injured after being shot while driving in Aurora Saturday night.

The Aurora Police Department said officers were called to the area of North Dayton Street and East 19th Avenue just after 8 p.m. on reports of a shooting and found a man with life-threatening injuries.

Police said their investigation revealed that the man was driving on East 19th Avenue, between Dallas and North Dayton streets, when he was shot. He was taken to the hospital.  

Officers learned a short time later that another man took himself to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm. His injuries are not considered life-threatening. He was not in the car with the first victim but was nearby, police said.

Investigators have not identified any suspects and they do not know the motive for the shooting. The circumstances that led up to it are unknown.
