AURORA, Colo. — One of four teens charged in connection with a shooting in the parking lot of an Aurora high school pleaded guilty Wednesday to attempted second-degree murder.
Court records show attempted first-degree murder charges were dismissed for Alejandro Carillo Hernandez, who was 17 at the time of the November 2021 shooting outside Hinkley High School.
Carillo Hernandez and three other teens were arrested and charged as adults, but one of the cases was moved to juvenile court.

Three teenagers were hurt in the shooting that started as a fight during the lunch period and led to several people firing shots out of the windows of a pickup truck as they drove through the parking lot, according to Aurora Police.
Carillo Hernandez and the other two teens charged as adults, Larry Jefferson and Dalen Brewer, are set to be sentenced in April at separate hearings.
Jefferson and Brewer each pleaded guilty in January to one count of attempted second-degree murder.
The 16-year-old who was suspected of driving the truck involved in the shooting was charged as an adult, but those charges were dismissed. His case was moved to juvenile court where a plea agreement was reached.
