Both men were also charged in connection with shots fired at an apartment complex in Denver on July 26, 2022. No one was injured in that shooting. Sanderson pleaded guilty in February to attempted murder in that case. Rhodes pleaded guilty in March to assault.

Sanderson was sentenced Friday to 45 years in prison for the Aurora case, and he was sentenced Thursday to 25 years for the Denver case. The sentences are concurrent, which means he will serve a total of 45 years in prison.

Rhodes was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison for the Aurora case. His sentencing in the Denver case is set for May 31.

A third suspect, Daviyontre Sanderson, was also charged in both cases. He pleaded guilty in July in Arapahoe County District Court to conspiracy to commit murder. In the Denver case, he pleaded guilty to one count of vehicular eluding. He was sentenced in September to 27 years in prison.
