Man dies after shooting early Friday in Aurora

The shooting early Friday follows two fatal shootings in the city on Thursday.

AURORA, Colo. — A man died from his injuries after a shooting early Friday morning – marking the third fatal shooting in the city within 24 hours.

Officers responded to the shooting in the 1500 block of North Nome Street around 1:10 a.m. and found 29-year-old Joshua Green with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Aurora Police.

Police could not provide any information about a potential suspect or suspects.

The shooting follows two others Thursday that were both fatal. A 33-year-old died after a shooting was reported around 10 a.m. Thursday in the 12100 block of East Ford Avenue. That's a few blocks west of the intersection of Interstate 225 and East Mississippi Avenue, police said.

Just before 5 p.m. Thursday, another shooting was reported near East Florida Avenue and South Peoria Street. The victim, a man, later died from his injuries. Police said none of the shootings are related.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
