2 men stabbed to death in Aurora

The victims were stabbed Monday night near East Colfax Avenue and Lima Street, according to police.

AURORA, Colo. — Two men died after they were stabbed Monday night in Aurora, police said.

The stabbings happened near East Colfax Avenue and Lima Street, Aurora Police said. At around 8 p.m., a passerby found one of the victims lying in the street near the intersection, according to police. He was taken to the hospital, where he died. He has been identified as 44-year-old Desmond Thomas.

While responding to the scene, officers were told about another stabbing victim who was found in the 11300 block of East Colfax Avenue, police said. He was also taken to the hospital, where he died. He has been identified as 58-year-old Otto Washington.

Police said they detained two people of interest and interviewed them both. One was released, and the other was arrested on outstanding warrants unrelated to the stabbing, police said. 

No arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing. Anyone with information can contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
