Aurora community college on 'secure status' as police search for armed man

A woman was robbed a gunpoint shortly before 7 a.m., according to Aurora Police.

AURORA, Colo. — The Community College of Aurora CentreTech Campus is on secure status while police search for an armed robbery suspect.

The school said on X that all exterior doors have been locked and told those not on campus not to attend classes until the situation is resolved.

Aurora Police said officers were in the area near Chambers Road and Alameda Avenue looking for a man who robbed a woman at gunpoint around 6:40 a.m. There is no description of the suspect because he was wearing all black clothing and a ski mask.

They noted the community college campus was placed on secure status as a precaution. Anyone who sees suspicious activity should call 911.
