'Bounty hunter' passing around fake $100 bills, Arvada Police say

Police said the suspect is described as a "bounty hunter" who has been seen at various businesses around town paying for purchases with fake money.

ARVADA, Colo. — Arvada Police are trying to identify a man reportedly passing around fake $100 bills.

Police said the suspect is described as a "bounty hunter" and has been seen at various businesses around town paying for purchases with fake money.

He is described as being a short man who is 60 to 70 years old, with a thin build and white hair. Police said he wears a tactical vest that says "fugitive recovery agent" and a neck badge. He also may possibly be carrying handcuffs and a gun, according to police.

The suspect may be working with an accomplice described as a woman with tattoos on her right leg, police said.

Investigators said they have been seen leaving businesses in a 2002-2007 Buick Rendezvous with temporary license plates.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
