ARVADA, Colo. — Police in Arvada asked for the public's help Thursday afternoon with finding a possibly missing or abducted child, then said about two hours later that they had located the man and vehicle associated with the incident and that there was no missing child involved.
The Arvada Police Department described an unidentified child Wednesday who was seen riding in a Honda Accord with a missing hood and Colorado license plates.
The car was being driven by a 37-year-old man, according to police.
Police said multiple people called 911 after seeing a child in distress who was signaling bystanders for help. They said the driver eluded officers twice.
Police released an update Thursday evening that they had determined the incident did not involve a missing or abducted child, and said the investigation was ongoing.
