ATLANTA (WXIA) - A popular and inspirational artist who lost his arms as a teenager is getting help from his fans after thieves stole his supplies.
Michael Davenport has learned to create using markers clinched in his mouth. He is a common sight around Athens, Georgia, where he works his magic.
In late February, thieves targeted him as he worked outside of a Publix on Atlanta Highway.
"I was so upset I couldn't talk to the officer at the time," Davenport said. "It made me cry."
Davenport lost three finished paintings, and a portfolio filled with canvas and markers.
