ALAMOSA, Colo. — The Alamosa Police Department said a suspect in a shooting that killed a person and injured two more at a hotel Sunday morning has been taken into custody.
Officers responded around 2:04 a.m. to a shooting at the Sunset Inn Hotel on West Eighth Street. Police Chief George Dingfelder said one victim died and the other victims were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to KRDO in Colorado Springs.
A suspect identified as Henry Corral left the scene and was then involved in a crash in the area of County Road 106 and Road 12 South, police said.
He attempted to carjack a vehicle before leaving the area on foot, according to police.
Police said Corral was taken into custody around 6:45 p.m. Sunday.
