DENVER — A string of racket thefts is being investigated at three Colorado locations belonging to Game-Set-Match, Inc., a tennis and pickleball chain.
The store owners estimate more than $30,000 worth of paddles have been stolen from locations in Denver, Boulder and Centennial.
A group caught on surveillance video during one of the reported thefts appeared laser-focused as it showed them passing up everything else in the shop and going straight for the rackets.
The store's owner says that kind of theft could end a smaller business, and he wants to get the word out to warn others.
The chain also said customers can help including helping identify the suspects and avoiding buying underpriced, high-end pickleball paddles on Craiglist and other marketplaces because that could be the stolen merchandise.
